Research Overview

The Economics of the Sustainable Built Environment (ESBE) Lab, established in Fall 2009 at Georgia Tech, provides expertise in investment valuation and quantitative methods provides the multidisciplinary breadth and quantitative rigor to address the nation’s rising financial and environmental problems related to buildings and infrastructure systems with important implications on sustainability and energy.

Research and Scholarly Work in the ESBE Lab resides in three spheres:

  1. Advancing Investment Valuation Models for Infrastructure Systems;
  2. Advancing Forecasting Models for Estimating Construction Cost Escalation; and
  3. Advancing Investment Valuation Models for High Performance Buildings.

In all cases, we are interested in developing state-of-the-art financial/economic analysis models for enhancing efficient and effective investments in built environment assets.
